GAMABA ARTIST

Myka Molleno Grade 12- ABM The National Living Treasures Award, alternatively known as the Gawad sa Manlilikha ng Bayan (GAMABA; lit. 'Award for the Creators of the Country'), is conferred to a person or group of artists recognized by the Government of the Philippines for their contributions to the country's intangible cultural heritage. GAMABA stands for Gawad ng manlilikha ng bayan, the very purpose of this award is to give honor and pride to those traditional folk artist and to preserve their works, skills and crafts.The very essence of GAMABA is to recognize the intangible cultural heritage of the so called “Manlilikha ng Bayan”, to give honor to their artistic excellence, express pride to their contributions in arts and to preserve these and continue to practice and pass their skills to the next generation.
